Marissa Summers

Playing Experience

I graduated from Decatur Central, where I was the starting setting all four years. I played two years of club at Indy Juniors before moving to NUF, where I made the 18-1's each season and helped lead the team to two national titles. I've been a captain on most of the teams I played on, and I've played pretty much every position at some point.

Coaching Experience

After I graduated, I spent two years as the assistant coach for the 18-1's at NUF. I took a little break from coaching, then got recruited to help start the Decatur Elite program and coach their top team. I also volunteered with Decatur Middle School during that time. After taking a year off to have my baby, I jumped back into coaching about 3 years ago as an assistant for the NUF 18-1s and helped coach the 16s at Nationals. This past season I coached the 17-1s at NUF - and I also just wrapped up my first season coaching thee JV team at Decatur Central.

Personal Life

I'm 27, and I have and amazing fiancé, Luis, and a 3-year-old, Amelia, who you'll probably see around pretty often. I work in Mooresville at a dentist's office as a dental lab tech, making crowns, implant bridges, and fixed dentures. In my free time, I love being a mom, playing volleyball, reading, and adding to my tattoo collection.
